On October 12th we had the pleasure of hosting, in our meeting room in Catania, the press conference for the presentation of the new Saturnia Volleyball coach, Cezar Douglas Silva.
As a sponsor, it was an honor to host the president Luigi Pulvirenti and Cezar Douglas Silva, for this first introduction to the world of Catania volleyball together with the press office.
Volleyball Saturnia Aci Castello (today S.S.D. A R.L. Pallavolo Saturnia) is one of the most historic and well-known Sicilian volleyball clubs.
Founded in 1965, with almost sixty consecutive years of activity, it is the oldest volleyball club in our region and one of the oldest in Italy. The name derives from the Norman castle of Aci, a place with a thousand-year history closely linked to the cult of SantʼAgata: it was precisely in the Rocca Saturnia (this is the ancient name of the manor) that the monks Goslino and Giliberto landed on their return from Constantinople, bringing the remains of the Holy.
Our role as sponsor of Saturnia Volley began four years ago, when we wanted to believe and bet on the potential of our city’s team.
It was November 29th, 2021 when we published our commitment as a sponsor alongside Saturnia Volley on social media. In the wake of the words of its president Luigi Pulvirenti, we promoted the slogan #tuttialpalacatania.
Between April and May 2023, Saturnia played in the Play Offs for access to A2, securing eight games out of eight and earning promotion to Serie A2 in the match against Casarano.
In the aftermath of the promotion to A2, at the request of the Volleyball League, and following the unavailability of Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia, Saturnia has given its availability to play in the Super League Championship for the 2023/24 season.
Two years have passed, we are in the Super League and our support has not changed.
As sponsors we will all meet at the arena to cheer on Saturnia because #NOISIAMOSATURNIA.
